Description N-Acetyl Semax Amidate. (commonly called NA Semax) is a modified version of the peptide Semax. It has gained quite a bit of attention in recent years due to its potential cognitive and neuroprotective properties. NA Semax Amidate has been studied fairly extensively for anxiolytic, nootropic and other effects in lab settings.
NA Semax Amidate is a modified version of Semax that has had an acetyl group added to the N-Terminus end of the peptide chain, and an amide group added to the C-Terminus side. These modifications work together to enhance the peptide’s overall stability as well as bioavailability, increasing its potential in biological studies and theoretically enhancing its potential in crossing the blood-brain barrier as well as increasing its interactions with neurotransmitters.
The amino acid sequence of NA Semax Amidate is Ac-Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro-NH2.
NA Semax Amidate, thanks to its modifications, has a longer half-life compared to the base form of Semax, meaning it remains active for a longer period. This is thanks largely due to its enhanced stability which resists degradation by enzymes and other factors. This peptide has been studied to modulate the expression of certain genes involved in neurotransmission, especially those in the hippocampus and limbic reticular complex areas, which are parts of the brain critical for both learning and memory.
NA Semax Amidate’s cognitive-enhancing effects are a strong focus of clinical studies around this peptide. This includes improved memory and attention, as well as learning.
